CONTRACT GRANT WRITER JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Role and Summary

A Contract Grant Writer is responsible for researching, data gathering, and coordinating the gathered data in order to write credible grant applications and proposals. The position is also in charge of managing and maintaining a donor database, as well as creating grant proposals for contractual companies whenever it is necessary.

A. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Writes proposals and grant applications.
  • Manages the grant application process.
  • Is in charge of handling the budget monitoring and its evaluation.
  • Conducts research to gather credible sources.
  • Gathers data from different research platforms such as journals, contacts, books, etc.
  • Identifies requirements and qualifications for every grant application.
  • Keeps a schedule for the deadlines of the grant applications.
  • Compiles all documentation that is required by grantors.
  • Identifies the interests, standards, restrictions, and basis of the grantors.
  • Works with the director, board of directors, and other staff in determining the needs of funds in supporting certain requests.
  • Helps in the creation of budgeting reports.
  • Creates an annual grant plan.
  • Monitors the progress of submitted proposals.
  • Makes sure that the submission of the grant proposal materials are on time.

C. Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in creative writing, communications, business administration, or any related field.
  • A minimum of three years of working experience in grant writing.
  • A nonprofit grant writing experience is an advantage.
  • In-depth knowledge of fundraising information sourcing.
  • With American Grant Writers Association or Grant Professionals Association Certification is a plus but not required.
