SECURITY GUARD JOB DESCRIPTION
In creating a Security Guard Job Description it will guide the Human Resource Manager to organize the tasks given to the officer and that the job description will lay down the criteria or the qualities needed for a person to possess in order to be fit for the job.
SECURITY GUARD OFFICER JOB TITLE
The Job title entails a great responsibility to any person who applies for this position and to those who are selected for this position. The person who is chosen in which the Company thinks that he or she is fit for the position must possess a vast range of knowledge for he or she will not only protect the assets and other belongings of the Company but also to safeguard the people inside the premises. The Company will choose someone that they can trust their lives and belongings to. The Company will work hard in order to find the right person for the position.
Once a person is vested with such a title, he or she will undergo training as provided by the Company. He or she must acquire skills that are necessary in protecting the lives and property of every person within the Company’s premises.
The person will be introduced also to the different laws in the society which are in adherence of the State and of the Local Government. These laws that will be introduced unto him or her will be very necessary in protecting the assets, belongings and life of all the people within the Company premises.
In the instance wherein the person chosen to work as a Security Guard will be vested with arms needed for the protection of the life, assets and other belongings of the Company, he or she will sign a waiver that those arms will be used only for the sole purpose of protecting such within the Company’s premises. In the event that he or she will use the arms outside the Company’s area, the Security Guard Officer will be held liable for his or her actions and will not include the Company’s name for his or her deeds.
The Company will give training to the Security Guard Officer if they decide to give arms to the Officer. The training that will be conducted will be very meticulous training and the Security must pass the training. In the event that the Company has observed that the Security Guard Officer cannot meet the metrics in handling the arms given to him, the Company has all the rights in terminating the Security Guard. The rationale of such a decision is based upon the sole purpose of not misappropriating the arms vested.
The Company needs a person who is responsible enough for his or her actions and would respect the Company’s properties that are vested upon him or her. At the same time, the Company needs a person who can protect the people and the assets and other belongings to the Company.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SECURITY GUARD
The duties and responsibilities of the Security Guard are laid down in this section wherein specific tasks are given to him/her. He or she must be able to carry out such tasks in order to prevent crimes from happening within the Company premises and be able to attend to emergency situations. Overall, the job of the Security Guard Officer is to safeguard the Assets within the Company’s premises and to protect the well-being of those who are coming in and out of the Company’s premises.
- The Security Guard Officer must patrol the Company’s premises within his shift. He must monitor all the people who are coming in and out of the working area.
- The Security Guard Officer must guard and monitor the area for possible theft and other robbery activities that may happen.
- He or She must write a daily report to his or her direct supervisor or manager for everyday situations.
- The Security Guard Officer must cooperate with the police, the Bureau of Fire protection, the SWAT team and other authorised officers.
- The Security Guard Officer must be in possession of the emergency contact numbers of necessary authorities when the need arises.
- The Security Guard Officer must protect the assets inside the Company premises. He or she must maintain and observe a safe environment.
- He or She must be very observant in his or her surroundings in the event a crime may happen.
- The Security Guard Officer must investigate any irregularities inside the working environment.
- The Security Guard Officer must always act in the defense of any innocent and civic persons within his jurisdiction.
- The Security Guard Officer must check the alarm system inside and outside the Company.
- He or She must not let any suspicious person enter the Company’s premises.
- In the event that there are occurrences that may happen within the Company’s premises, the Security Guard Officer must write an incident report to the higher management right away.
- If the Security Guard Officer is vested with any arms like a gun or any tool that he or she can use against violence upon him or her, he or she must handle the tool and or the arm with due diligence and care.
- The Security Guard Officer must answer calls within the Company premises during holidays and days off.
- The Security Guard Officer must know first aid measures.
- The Security Guard Officer must follow procedures for traffic, fire protection and investigations on accidents.
- He or She must know necessary laws in adherence to the laws of the State and the Local Government.
- The Security Guard Officer must conduct inspections for the vehicles that are brought into the Company’s premises.
- The Security Guard Officer must maintain peace and order by adhering to the laws of the State and of the Local Government.
- The Security Guard officer must at all times, ensures the safety of everyone within the Company’s premises.
- The Security Guard Officer must adhere also to the safety rules and regulations of the Company.
- The Security Guard Officer must ensure that Standard Operating Procedures must be followed at all times.
- The Security Guard Officer must always check the Company’s building and if there are parts that must be needed to be repaired, he or she must report it to the management immediately.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
The skills and other qualifications needed for the position of Security Guard may include those skills acquired in a person’s previous job. Other qualifications may include the following:
